How to setup your email program

  1. Open Outlook 2003.
  2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'E-mail Accounts'.
  3. Click 'Add a new e-mail account' and then click 'Next'.
  4. Select POP3 and click 'Next'.
  5. - Enter 'Your Name' as you want it to appear.
    - Enter your full email address username@my-domain-temple.net. (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Email address:' field.
    - Enter your username jdoe@my-domain-temple.net'(Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Account name:' field.
    - Enter your email password in the 'Password' field.
    - Enter 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) server:' field.
    - Enter 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
  6. - Click on 'More Settings...'
    - Click on the 'Outgoing Server' tab.
    - Check 'My outgoing server (SMTP) Requires Authentication'.
    - Make sure 'Use same setting as my incoming mail server' is also checked.
    - Click on 'OK'.
  7. Click the 'Test Account Settings' button and you should see all items with green check marks. Click the 'close' Button to close the test window.
  8. Click 'Next' to save your settings.
  9. Congratulations you have finished the setup of your email account, Click 'Finish' to close the setup wizard.

  10. Bigpond or Optus users

  11. Open Outlook 2003.
  12. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'E-mail Accounts'.
  13. Click 'Add a new e-mail account' and then click 'Next'.
  14. Select POP3 and click 'Next'.
  15. - Enter 'Your Name' as you want it to appear.
    - Enter your full email address username@my-domain-temple.net. (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Email address:' field.
    - Enter your username jdoe@my-domain-temple.net'(Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Account name:' field.
    - Enter your email password in the 'Password' field.
    - Enter 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) server:' field.
    - Enter 'mail.yourserviceprovider.com in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field. (example mail.optusnet.com.au)
  16. - Click on 'More Settings...'
    - Click on the 'Outgoing Server' tab.
    - Check 'My outgoing server (SMTP) Requires Authentication'.
    - Make sure 'Log on using' is also checked.
    - type in your username and password of your internet service provider here (bigpond or optus)
  17. - Click on 'OK'.
  18. Click the 'Test Account Settings' button and you should see all items with green check marks. Click the 'close' Button to close the test window.
  19. Click 'Next' to save your settings.
  20. Congratulations you have finished the setup of your email account, Click 'Finish' to close the setup wizard.
